A Town for Bald Women by LadyDaisy Chapter 1: Upstate New York, 1937 "Where is this place?" asked Phoebe. "I believe it's not much farther after we passed that last town." replied Sophia. Sophia was invited to a family member's house in Rhettsburg. She would have the house all to herself as they were away. It was deep into the heart of New York, but had a decent amount of people living there. Sophia had invited a few of her friends from the Bald Women's Society to come along, and Phoebe and Sasha accepted and were now in the car. A look at their heads told each other it was a sunny day out, and there were a selection of nice greens in addition to the farmland. This would be the only town for several miles. 1899, New York The Walthorpes were a happy couple with a beautiful daughter whom they loved very much. They showered everything she ever wanted on her- except for one thing- hair. Violet had been bald since birth and was very insecure about it. She was obsessed with having beautiful hair, any hair at all, but not one hair grew on her head ever. Everyone told her that her bald head was beautiful, but she could never feel like it. Her parents often held large grand balls at their mansion, often just for fun. Violet liked to attend, wearing wigs. She would choose what she considered as the most lavish and beautiful. It was, then, a small slice of attainable fantasy. She got looks of admiration as she waked, for her lovely dress, and that marvelous, flowing hair. She went into the building, came to the door of the suite, and knocked. The door creaked open a tiny bit. Dorothy slid a card in. The door opened a bit more, and she walked in. Dorothy was relieved as she could finally take her scratchy wig off.
